Job Summary
The Head of Mechanical is a key senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations within Dangote Group. This position involves strategic planning, project management, and the maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure peak performance while adhering to safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering department to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement strategies for equipment maintenance to optimize uptime and performance.
- Supervise large-scale mechanical projects, including installations, upgrades, and system troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align mechanical operations with broader business goals.
- Establish and uphold safety standards in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor mechanical performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage budgeting and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Prepare and present mechanical performance reports to executive management.
- Provide expert technical support in resolving complex mechanical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and advocate for best practices across the organization.
Requirements, Qualifications, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management abilities and problem-solving acumen.
